CISA: Iron ore prices in China increase during October

Iron ore prices in China increased during the month of October, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

At the end of October this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 272.14 points, up 22.25 points or 8.9 percent compared to the end of September. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index was at 254.16 points, up 13.71 points or 5.70 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 274.86 points, increasing by 23.55 points or 9.37 percent month on month.

For the whole of October, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 262.07 points, up 13.38 points or 5.38 percent compared to the end of September. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index stood at 246.64 points, up 9.04 points or 3.8 percent month on month, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 264.4 points, increasing by 14.03 points or 5.6 percent month on month.
