Iron ore prices in China edged up slightly during the month of January, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of January this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 289.93 points, up 9.58 points or 3.42 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 236.69 points, up 1.07 points or 0.45 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 299.96 points, increasing by 11.18 points or 3.87 percent month on month.
For the whole of January, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 283.46 points, up 3.3 points or 1.18 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 235.78 points, increasing by 1.69 points or 0.72 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 292.45 points, rising by 3.61 points or 1.25 percent, both month on month.
