Chongsteel Works breaks ground for 2 million mt pellet project

On January 22, Chinese steelmaker ChongQing Steel & Iron Co. (Chongsteel) held a groundbreaking ceremony in Changshou New Area for its new 2 million mt iron ore pellet project. 

Speaking at the ceremony, company executive Dong Ronghua described the 2 million mt pellet project as one of the leading projects of Chongsteel, and said that it constituted part of Chongsteel's 6.5 million mt production scale in the Changshou New Area.

The groundbreaking follows the company's commissioning of its integrated production line with a capacity of 2 million mt and the launch of its No.3 blast furnace as well as the start of construction work on its 2700 mm medium plate line.
