Chinese PMI rises further in April

According to the new data issued by the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) and China's National Bureau of Statistics, in April this year the purchasing manager index (PMI) of the domestic manufacturing industry was 53.3 percent, rising by 0.2 percentage points from February.

Following a surge over five consecutive months, the index has now exceeded the level of April 2011. As compared to March, the production and new export orders indexes moved up in April, with the bigger month-on-month increase seen for the production index which rose by two percentage points.
