China’s steel bar exports up 51.5 percent in January-October

In October this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates amounted to 3.44 million mt, 440,000 mt, 200,000 mt, and 3.81 million mt, up 8.8 percent, 19.3 percent and 1.7 percent, and decreasing by 1.4 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by Chinese customs. In the January-October period of the current year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates totaled 35.15 million mt, 4.57 million mt, 1.90 million mt, and 40.17 million mt, increasing by 51.5 percent, 17.7 percent, 6.7 percent and 14.6 percent, respectively, year on year.

In October this year, China exported 9.02 million mt of finished steel, up 5.6 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-October period of the current year totaled 92.13 million mt, rising by 24.7 percent year on year, as previously announced by Chinese customs.
