According to the latest Chinese customs data, in November this year Chinese steel exports totaled 4.2 million mt, increasing by 380,000 mt compared to October and up 44.33 percent from a year ago. In the first 11 months of 2011, the total steel exports of
China amounted to 45.16 million mt, rising by 13.8 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in November Chinese steel imports came to 1.23 million mt, an increase of 30,000 mt from October but down 10.87 percent compared to the same month of 2010. In the January-November period of the current year, Chinese steel imports totaled 14.39 million mt, decreasing by 4.2 percent year on year.
The customs data also show that
China imported 64.2 million mt of
iron ore in November this year, up 14.26 million mt from the previous month and up 11.89 percent year on year. In addition, in the first 11 months of the year
China's total
iron ore imports reached 622.01 million mt, an increase of 11 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
