China’s steel bar exports down 61.6 percent in January-November

In November this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and wire rod amounted to 1.06 million mt, 240,000 mt, 3.09 million mt and 150,000 mt, respectively declining by 56.3 percent, 49.5 percent, 22.9 percent and 16.8 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-November period this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate and wire rod totaled 15.04 million mt, 3.18 million mt, 40.09 million mt, and 1.89 million mt, decreasing by 61.6 percent, 33.0 percent, 8.8 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively, year on year.

In November this year, China exported 5.35 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 34.0 percent year on year, while the country’s finished steel exports in the first eleven months of the year totaled 69.83 million mt, down 30.7 percent year on year, as previously announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
