China’s stainless steel output rises by 8.5 percent in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of the current year, China’s stainless steel output amounted to 20.7467 million mt, increasing by 8.5 percent year on year, according to the Stainless Steel Council of the China Special Steel Enterprises Association (SSC-CSSEA).

It is estimated that apparent consumption of stainless steel in China in the given period will total 16.4571 million mt, up 9.51 percent year on year. According to the SSC-CSSEA, increases in stainless steel imports contributed to the strong rise in apparent consumption of stainless steel.
