China’s stainless steel output rises by 13.23 percent in H1

In the first half of the current year, China’s stainless steel output amounted to 13.6396 million mt, increasing by 13.23 percent year on year, according to the Stainless Steel Council of the China Special Steel Enterprises Association (SSC-CSSEA).

It is estimated that apparent consumption of stainless steel in China in the given period will total 11.20 million mt, up 24.79 percent year on year. According to the SSC-CSSEA, increases in stainless steel imports contributed to the strong rise in apparent consumption of stainless steel.
