China’s semi-finished steel imports up 239.8 percent in January-August

In the January-August period this year, China imported 830,000 mt of semi-finished steel, surging by 239.8 percent year on year, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

Meanwhile, in August alone China imported 70,000 mt of semi-finished steel, down 0.3 percent year on year.
