China's pipe production falls, HR production increases in Oct.

Affected by the strong drop in exports to the US market, China's daily pipe output in October registered a big decrease compared with the previous month, accompanied by an obvious relaxation in the year-on-year growth trend. China's daily output of seamless pipe for the period in question totaled 49,700 mt, down 4,100 mt or 7.6 percent month on month and up 4,400 mt or 9.7 percent year on year. Meanwhile, China's daily output of welded pipe reached 64,300 mt, down 4,700 mt or 6.8 percent month on month and up 2,400 mt or 3.9 percent year on year.
China's crude steel production in October totaled 42.922 million mt, up 5.1053 million mt or 13.5 percent year on year. Average daily production of crude steel in October reached 1.3846 million mt, down 39,100 mt/day month on month. Meanwhile, crude steel production for the January-October period hit 408.5184 million mt, up 62.6095 million mt or 18.1 percent year on year.

China's pig iron production in October totaled 40.8422 million mt, up 4.7625 million mt or 13.2 percent year on year. At the same time, total pig iron production in January-October reached 387.4209 million mt, up 52.8605 million mt or 15.8 percent.

China's finished steel production in October totaled 49.0788 million mt, up 7.1311 million mt or 17 percent year on year. On the other hand, national finished steel production for the January-October period reached 466.5639 million mt, up 88.7794 million mt or 23.5 percent.

The breakdown of China's steel production in October according to the various products is as follows:

China's coke output for October totaled 28.5428 million mt, up 3.1262 million mt or 12.3 percent year on year. Meanwhile, national coke output for the January-October period reached 269.8712 million mt, up 41.3604 million mt or 18.1 percent year on year.

China's ferroalloy output totaled 1.5959 million mt in October, up 194,800 mt or 13.9 percent year on year. For the January-October period, on the other hand, national ferroalloy production reached 14.136 million mt, up 2.8902 million mt or 25.7 percent year on year.

In October, China's iron ore output totaled 59.84 million mt, up 7.1639 million mt or 13.9 percent compared with the same period last year. January-October iron ore output reached 566.8291 million mt, up 102.2151 million mt or 22 percent year on year.

China's crude steel exports in the month of October totaled 3.36 million mt, accounting for 7.8 percent of total crude steel production for the month.

From January to October, China's steel exports reached 62.72 million mt of crude steel, accounting for 15.4 percent of China's total crude steel production during this period.
