China’s National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) announced on December 1 that the purchasing managers’ index (PMI) of China’s manufacturing sector rose to 50.6 in November, up 0.4 points month on month. A reading above 50 indicates expansion.
As regards the various sub-indexes, the production index for China’s manufacturing sector in November increased by 0.4 points month on month to 52.5, while the new order index for the sector increased by 0.8 points month on month to 51.2. The raw material inventory index for China’s manufacturing sector was 47.9, indicating a month-on-month increase of 0.6 points.
Also in November, the employment index of China’s manufacturing sector stood at 48.7, down 0.5 points compared to October. The supplier delivery time index of China’s manufacturing sector was at 49.9, down 0.2 points compared to October, while the raw material purchasing price index decreased by 4.2 points month on month to 50.1.
