The latest data released by Chinese customs show that national exports of finished steel in November totaled 2.85 million mt, up 140,000 mt month on month and down 3.39 percent year on year. From January to November, China's total exports of finished steel reached 21.26 million mt, down 62.1 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, China's imports of finished steel for November totaled 1.29 million mt, down 190,000 mt month on month and up 25.24 percent year on year. In the January-November period, imports of finished steel totaled 16.15 million mt, up 11.4 million mt or 10.6 percent year on year.
China's semis exports in November stood at 20,000 mt, compared to zero tonnage in the previous month; meanwhile, semis imports in November stood at 300,000 mt, down 30,000 mt month on month.
In November, China's coke exports reached 60,000 mt, down 81.25 percent year on year. From January to November, the country's total coke exports amounted to 480,000 mt, down 96 percent year on year.
China's iron ore imports in November totaled 51.07 million mt, up 5.6 million mt month on month and up 57.04 percent year on year. From January to November, China's iron ore imports came to 565.86 million mt, up 38.4 percent compared with the same period last year.
