China’s iron ore output up 1.3 percent in January-February 2026

In the January-February period this year, China’s iron ore production amounted to 161.644 million mt, increasing by 1.3 percent year on year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). 

In the first two months this year, import iron ore prices basically moved on a downward trend. The lowest iron ore price level of $99/mt during the given period was seen on February 24, while the highest level of $111/mt was observed on January 7, according to SteelOrbis’ data.
