China’s FAI in transportation down 8.1 percent in January-May 2025

Total fixed asset investments (FAI) in transportation in China in the January-May period this year amounted to RMB 1.2 trillion ($0.17 trillion), down 8.1 percent year on year, as announced by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT). 

In particular, the FAI in construction of roads and waterways in China in the given period amounted to RMB 860.7 billion ($120.2 billion) and RMB 87.0 billion ($12.2 billion), down 9.2 percent and up 10.7 percent year on year, respectively.
