In May this year, excavator sales in China increased to 31,744 units, up 68 percent year on year, much higher than the expected growth of 50 percent, as announced by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA). In the January-May period of the year, excavator sales in China amounted to 145,800 units, up 19.4 percent year on year.

Market analysts have forecast that excavator sales in China will likely continue to exceed growth of 50 percent in June.

Su Zimeng, secretary general of the CCMA, said that the resumption of production and construction following the effective control of the coronavirus has contributed to the strong growth of excavator sales.
