China’s coke output up 2.3 percent in January-August

In the January-August period this year, China’s coke output reached 325.93 million mt, up 2.3 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).  

In the first eight months this year, China’s raw coal output amounted to 3.05084 billion mt, rising by 3.4 percent year on year, 0.2 percentage points slower compared to the increase recorded in the January-July period. In the given period, China imported 310 million mt of coal, up 82 percent year on year.  

In August this year, China imported 44.33 million mt of coal, up 50.5 percent year on year.   

In August alone, China’s coke output and raw coal output totaled 41.58 million mt and 382.17 million mt, up 6.0 percent and 2.0 percent year on year, respectively.
