China’s coke output increases by 1.8 percent in H1

In the January-June period this year, China’s coke output reached 243.83 million mt, up 1.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on July 17.

In the first six months this year, China’s raw coal output amounted to 2.3 billion mt, rising by 4.4 percent year on year, 0.4 percentage points slower compared to the increase recorded in the January-May period. In the January-June period, China imported 220 million mt of coal, up 93.0 percent year on year.   

In June this year, China imported 39.871 million mt of coal, up 110.1 percent year on year.    

In June alone, China’s coke output and raw coal output totaled 40.69 million mt and 390.09 million mt, down 2.2 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively, year on year.
