China’s coal exports down 39 percent in 2018

In December last year, China exported 310,000 mt of coal, decreasing by 55.7 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the same month, China imported 10.23 million mt of coal, declining by 55.0 percent year on year.

In 2018, China exported 4.934 million mt of coal, down 39.0 percent year on year, while its coal imports totaled 281.232 million mt, up 3.9 percent year on year.
