According to a statement issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) on November 8, in the last 10 days of October the member enterprises of the CISA produced 14.63 million mt of crude steel while nationwide production of crude steel amounted to 17.199 million mt, with average daily outputs of crude steel at 1.33 million mt and 1.564 million mt respectively - almost neutral from mid-October levels.

Meanwhile, the national average daily production of crude steel in October amounted to 1.586 million mt, down two percent from 1.618 million mt registered in September this year.

According to the CISA statement, due to the influence of government policy aimed at saving energy and reducing emissions and the annual overhauls carried out by many domestic enterprises, China's output of crude steel remained at a low level in October.
