China issues iron ore import licenses for 135.9818 million mt in March

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has announced that in March this year China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) issued iron ore import licenses for a total of 135.9818 million mt, up 27.51 percent month on month, valued at $10.887 billion. 

In March this year, the iron ore import licenses issued by China for Australian and Brazilian iron ore amounted to 79.9674 million mt and 28.066 million mt respectively, both increasing by 20.83 percent month on month, with respective values of $6.406 billion and $2.432 billion. 

Licenses issued for imports of India iron ore in March amounted to 6.0751 million mt, up 80.52 percent month on month, valued at $393 million, while licenses issued for iron ore from other countries amounted to 21.8734 million mt, valued at $1.655 billion.
