Cherepovets Steel Mill completes capital repairs at converter No. 2

Cherepovets Steel Mill, a subsidiary of Russian steelmaker Severstal, has completed capital repairs at its converter No. 2. The total cost of repairs was Ruble 37.5 million ($1.335 million).

The project on the reconstruction of the feed system for bulk materials started last year with the total investment cost of Ruble 96 million ($3.42 million). The project was initiated in order to increase productivity and to increase accuracy of feeding of materials at converters. In April, the relevant renovation work was completed at converter No. 1 and has now been completed at converter No. 2. The completion of reconstruction at converter No. 3 is scheduled for June this year.
