Certain measures may be taken to protect steel industry in Pakistan

Recent news in the market reveals that, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) demanded the government to take certain measures to protect steel producers, who have been facing certain problems, such as rising prices fuelled by raw material shortage. The prices in Pakistan are stated to have increased by Pakistan Rupees 5'700 ($99). As a solution to the problem, two suggestions such as reducing current steel import tariff level of 10% and general sales tax level of 20% were presented to the government however, what kind of measure the government will take is unknown yet.
