Canadian unemployment rate remains static in February

Ottawa, Canada-based Statistics Canada reported Friday that employment in Canada rose by 15,100 in February following an increase of 69,200 in January, as the unemployment rate was unchanged at 7.8 percent.

The gain represents the fifth consecutive month of job gains although full-time employment fell by 23,800 and part-time employment rose by 38,900.
