Canadian iron ore shipments up 51.9 percent in February

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in February 2018 totaled 2,439,598 mt, a 51.9 percent increase from January and a 31.5 percent increase from February 2017. Of that total, 240,204 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 3,813,873 mt was exported.

Year-to-date iron ore shipments in February totaled 6,722,213 mt, down 0.3 percent from the same period of 2017.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of February totaled 3,530,349 mt, down 15.9 percent from January and up 2.1 percent from February 2017.
