Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 36.39 million mt in March this year, increasing 20 compared to the same month of 2016, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in March totaled $2.32 billion in value, increasing 199.7 percent year on year.
In March, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 935,361 mt, up by 32.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $402.76 million, increasing by 118.8 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in March Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 286,678 metric tons, down by 17.8 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $190.24 million, growing by 32.9 percent from the March 2016 level.
