Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 35.11 million mt in December last year, increasing 11.6 percent month on month and down by 11.2 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in December totaled $1.76 billion in value, up 43.4 percent from the previous month and increasing 38.8 percent year on year.
In December, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 782,500 mt, increasing by six percent month on month and down by 32 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $271.5 million, rising by 7.8 percent compared to November and decreasing by 11.3 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in December Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 319,600 metric tons, up by 32.8 percent month on month and rising by 8.6 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $172.7 million, rising 33.2 percent from the previous month and growing by 23.4 percent from the December 2015 level.
