Brazil's national statistics agency (IBGE) has announced that in October this year industrial production in the country rose 0.2 percent compared to September and was up 5.3 percent from October last year.
In the first ten months of this year, industrial production in Brazil was up by 1.9 percent on year-on-year basis.
According to the announcement, in the tenth month of this year the production of intermediate goods manufacturers in Brazil decreased by 0.8 percent, output of capital goods rose by 1.1 percent, output of consumer goods grew by one percent, production of durable consumer goods moved down by two percent and output of semi-durable and non-durable consumer goods rose by two percent, all compared to the previous month.
In October this year, Brazil's metal products output increased by 1.9 percent and machine and equipment output rose by 8.3 percent, output of motor vehicles and trailers moved up by 27.4 percent, all on year-on-year basis. In the January-October period of this year, Brazil's machine and equipment output rose by 3.1 percent and output of motor vehicles and trailers increased by 16.1 percent, both compared to the same period of 2016.
