Brazil's national statistics agency (IBGE) has announced that in February this year industrial production in the country increased 0.1 percent compared to January, but was down 0.8 percent from February last year.
In the first two months of this year, industrial production in Brazil was up by 0.3 percent on year-on-year basis.
According to the announcement, in the second month of this year the production of intermediate goods manufacturers in Brazil increased by 0.5 percent, output of capital goods rose by 6.5 percent, output of consumer goods grew by 0.9 percent, production of durable consumer goods moved up by 7.1 percent and output of semi-durable and non-durable consumer goods fell by 1.6 percent, all compared to the previous month.
In February this year, Brazil's metal products output decreased by 4.5 percent, machine and equipment output rose by 11 percent, and output of motor vehicles and trailers moved up by 12.3 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
