The Brazilian ministry of labor has ordered local steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) to shut down its Casa de Pedra iron ore mine, located in the city of Congonhas, in the state of Minas Garais, following a technical report by public prosecutors saying the mine’s dam could collapse.

The order was issued on October 11, but CSN has not effectively shut down the mine, according to media reports. The country’s ministry of labor has labeled the mine’s situation as “serious,” and could cause accidents to employees.

CSN reportedly has 10 days to appeal the shutdown order, according to media reports.
