After three months showing pessimism with the developments of the Brazilian economy, the country’s industrial entrepreneurs are back to optimism, unveiled by research developed by sector association CNI.
By a short margin, the ICEI index, that measures the optimism of the industrial entrepreneurs, increased from 49.2 in May to 50.4 in June, surpassing the 50.0 mark that separates pessimism from optimism.
The research shows that the entrepreneurs are more optimistic about the future than with the current economic conditions, as the index for the current conditions, although increasing by 1.1 points, remains in a pessimistic mood at 44.2 points, while the index that measures expectations has reached 53.5 points, with an increase of 1.3 points.
The research also shows that, in average, the entrepreneurs are more optimistic with the perspectives of their own companies than with the perspectives of the economy in general.
The research was developed between June 1-7, covering representatives of 1,382 companies.
