Brazil’s ministry of development, industry and foreign trade (MDIC) has recommended the renewal of anti-dumping (AD) duties imposed over both Chinese and Taiwanese imports of stainless steel welded pipes.

Producers in China and Taiwan previously paid since July 2013 duties ranging from $359.66/mt to $911.71/mt. The duties expired in July 2018.

MDIC said there are enough elements that indicate the extinction of the duties would harm Brazil’s domestic market. As such, MDIC recommended Brazil to extend the expired duties.

The products currently fall under the Mercosur HTS codes 7306.40.00 and 7306.90.20.
