BHP Billiton discovered coal deposit in Indonesia

According to the recent news, Australian steel producer BHP Billiton discovered a coal deposit in Kalimantan province of Indonesia. The deposit is stated to be holding great importance for BHP Billiton as it will be source of coking coal for BHP Billiton. The operation of the deposit by BHP Billiton is subject to approval of Indonesian government, together with a compromise on environmental and social issues. The feasibility study at the deposit has already started and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2004.
