On July 10, Liaoning Province-based Benxi Steel issued its ex-factory prices for August, indicating a downward adjustment of RMB 220-400/mt ($29-53) from July levels. The details are as follows:
1. HR coils
Prices have decreased RMB 300/mt ($40) from the previous levels. As a result, the price of Q235 3.0 mm is now at RMB 3,410/mt ($450), while that of Q235 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm is at RMB 3,130/mt ($413).
2. CR coils
Prices are down by RMB 220/mt ($29). Thus, the ex-factory price of Q195 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm box sheet is at RMB 4,020/mt ($530), while that of Q195 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C CR coil is at RMB 3,950/mt ($521).
3. Galvanized coils
Prices have declined RMB 230/mt ($30) from July levels. Following the adjustment, the price of ST01Z 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C is at RMB 4,530/mt ($698).
4. Color coated
Prices are down by RMB 400/mt ($53). Thus, the price of TDC51D 0.47 mm x 1,250 mm is at RMB 5,800/mt ($765).
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of July 10, 2007.
