Beijing plans 100 major projects across 12 sectors for 2026-30

According to the Beijing Municipal Outline for the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development issued on April 8, Beijing plans to implement 100 major projects across 12 sectors, with a total investment exceeding RMB 4.0 trillion ($0.58 trillion).

The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission has outlined major strategic tasks, including building a political center, a cultural center, an international exchange center and an international science and technology innovation center, coordinating development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, developing a modern industrial system, cultivating a dynamic domestic demand system, safeguarding and improving people's livelihoods, integrating urban-rural areas and coordinating regional development, enhancing the modernization of megacity governance, and building beautiful buildings in Beijing and ensuring security in the capital.
