Baosteel Special Steel, a unit of Chinese steel giant Baosteel, has successfully carried hot trials on its No. 2 argon-oxygen decarburization (AOD) 40-mt furnace, according to Baosteel Daily.

In recent years, Baosteel Special Steel's No. 1 AOD furnace has produced 80 kinds of special alloy stainless steel, but the producer has still found it difficult to meet the market needs for stainless steel and special alloys. The No. 2 AOD furnace will help resolve such difficulties.
