In late July (July 21-31) this year, the average price in China of coking coal was recorded at RMB 1,180.0/mt ($172.8/mt), remaining stable, while the average price of second-grade metallurgical coke was RMB 1,906.6/mt ($279.2/mt), down by RMB 112.6/mt ($16.5/mt) or 5.6 percent, both compared to prices in mid-July (July 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
