In mid-December (December 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar and 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod were recorded at RMB 4,747.7/mt ($721.5) and RMB 4,790.6/mt ($728.1/mt), down RMB 40.9/mt ($6.23/mt) and RMB 32.2/mt ($4.9/mt), down 0.9 percent and 0.7 percent, compared to prices in early December (December 1-10).
At the same time, the average prices of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 4,375.5/mt ($667.0/mt), RMB 4,510.1/mt ($687.5/mt), RMB 5,590.0/mt ($852.1/mt) and RMB 4,562.1/mt ($695.4/mt), up RMB 4.2/mt ($0.6/mt), RMB 21.4/mt ($3.3/mt), RMB 34.4/mt ($5.3/mt) and RMB 15.1/mt ($2.3/mt), rising by 0.1 percent, 0.5 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively, compared to prices in early December (December 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on December 25.
