On June 28, Australia-based technical, project and operational support service provider WorleyParsons announced that Brazilian mining giant Vale has awarded a cost reimbursable contract to a consortium of WorleyParsons and Canadian engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin for implementation of the S11D project in Brazil.
Vale's multi-billion dollar S11D project is a 90 million metric tons per annum iron ore processing facility located approximately 1,940 kilometers northeast of Sao Paulo in Para State, Brazil, in one of the world's richest ore bodies.
Under the contract, WorleyParsons' services will include engineering for the modular ore processing facilities, procurement support, construction management and supply of key project management.
