Austal USA breaks ground on steel shipbuilding facility in Mobile, Alabama

Austal USA has announced the company has broken ground on a new steel shipbuilding facility in Alabama.

According to the company, the $100m facility will add new capacity. It will also help the company fulfill orders for steel ships from the US Coast Guard and US Navy.  Construction is expected to complete in April 2022.
