ATI Allegheny Ludlum hikes stainless steel prices

According to the statement released by ATI Allegheny Ludlum, the company will increase base prices of certain stainless steel plate mill products by 5 cents per pound effective for shipments as of October 4, 2004. This amount corresponds to a 4% increase on Type 304. The existing raw material surcharges will remain in effect. The prices are stated to have been increased to offset rising manufacturing costs.
