Armco wins $8.1 million government contract in Brazil

Brazilian steelmaker Armco Staco SA won a BRL 33.4 million ($8.1 million) contract to provide a range of steel products for the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, according to a document filing.

SteelOrbis has learned Armco will provide a range of products, such as steel sheets, and hot galvanized steel sheets, for boreholes to be built in the state’s roads.

Mato Grosso state ordered different ranges of galvanized steel sheets under Armco’s MP100 and MP152 specifications.

The state’s largest order was a BRL 14.5 million contract for circular galvanized steel sheets of a thickness of 2.7mm and a 3.05-meter diameter, under the company’s MP152 grade specification.
