ArcelorMittal South Africa (ArcelorMittal SA), a subsidiary of world's largest steel producer ArcelorMittal, has announced the intention to increase its domestic steel prices in May due to the continuous upward movement of international steel prices and also because of the softening of the South African currency.

As of May 1, ArcelorMittal SA plans to increase the base prices of both its long and flat products by an average of $150/mt, while the company intends to up its price for galvanized steel of 762 mm x 0.3 mm size by $295/mt and of 914 mm x 0.3 mm size by $266/mt.
