ArcelorMittal Brazil expects domestic steel sales in 2019 to decrease 5 percent, year-on-year, a media report from Valor said this week.
Jefferson De Paula, the company’s CEO for longs, said ArcelorMittal Brazil should sell 3.5 million mt of steel this year.
De Paula said attributed the decreased steel sales in Brazil to higher competition in the domestic market.
As for 2020, ArcelorMittal Brazil expects an improved scenario.
Apparent long steel consumption in Brazil should improve 5 percent in 2020, year-on-year, fueled by the local civil construction segment, De Paula estimated.
