Arcelor to renovate HDG line

European steelmaker Arcelor has decided to renovate its hot dipped galvanizing line at Flemalle in Belgium. The company will invest €2.7 million for this project. The line has an annual capacity of 290'000 tons and serves to the construction and industry sectors. The project is scheduled to complete by the end of 2004. After the investment, the line will have wider product range. This investment is included to Arcelor's plan of developing Liege's cold rolled and coating activities. Furthermore, this renovation will help to increase Liege's annual capacity from 800'000 tons to 1 million tons.
