Application deadline for Erdemir tender extended

Turkey's Privatization Administration, which is selling its 49.29% stake in Erdemir, extended the deadline for expressions of interest to 14 July, from 8 July originally. However, no change has been announced in the deadline for submitting bids, which is September 26, 2005. Among the foreign producers that have expressed an interest in Erdemir are Luxembourg-based Arcelor, Mittal Steel, Anglo-Dutch Corus, and three Russian steel producers – Severstal, Novolipetsk Iron & Steel (NMLK), and EvrazHolding. Moreover, Turkish producers Kibar Holding, OYAK, and Borusan have shown an interest in the tender.
