Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group Co. (Ansteel) has announced that on August 6 construction work started on its high-strength galvanized auto steel sheet project in Yufu Industrial Park in Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing, Sichuan Province.
According to the company statement, the project will use foreign state-of-the-art technology for the production of high-strength hot dip galvanized (HDG) auto steel sheets and other HDG products. Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies (Siemens VAI) is responsible for designing the facilities and for equipment supply.
