Chinese steelmaker Anshan Steel has formally founded a new company, named Anshan Viganò, located in the northern Italian city of Milan, which will process silicon and galvanized steel products.
As previously reported by Steelorbis, in 2008 Anshan bought 60 percent of Italian company Viganò Srl, planning to establish a modern service center focused on the main European markets. However, the deep crisis that hit the global steel sector in 2009 caused Anshan to delay the project.
Anshan Viganò, with a capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year, represents an important step in the expansion of the Chinese steel producer's activities worldwide.
