Al Nasser plans two more steel mills

United Arab Emirates (UAE) based Al Nasser Industrial Enterprises (ANIE) announced plans to set up two crude steel manufacturing plants with 450'000 tons per annum production capacity in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. One of the new plants will manufacture steel billets and the other will produce Direct Reduced Iron (DRI). The company will use these materials as raw material for its steel rolling mills. When the two plants are completed in 2007, ANIE's total crude steel production capacity will increase to 600'000 tons per annum. Hylsamex and Danieli will provide the technology and equipment for the plants.
