AK Steel announces October surcharges

Middletown, Ohio-based AK Steel has announced their October surcharge flat-rolled carbon steel products. AK has notified its customers that a $154 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for orders shipped in October 2005. A $90 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in October 2005. The company’s surcharges are based on August 2005 purchase costs for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products.
